watching too much of ghost films and listening to too much of ghost stories apparently won't do any good to your "aura". when you're down and scared, your aura is less bright thus making you vulnerable to all those spirits out there who wants to spook the lights out of you. err, according to people any way. ryuu's theory of evoluscarization ;). now this is one of the times when ignorance IS bliss.
about 2 days ago i was in malacca, yup, r&r (rest n relax) again. we just finished a round of drinking, and sent a friend home. on the way to my house, sending me home, we suddenly heard some knocking sounds.. *thud*thud*. we didn't really notice it, and even if we did, we ignored it and continued with our conversation. then it happened again, *thud*thud*. at this point of time, we're at some lonely highway with few cars around us. now , just like people who had their whole lives flash in front of their eyes when they're having a near-death experience, all the stories i heard and/or wtched before flashed upon me.
the hair behind my neck rose and one story in particular flashed vividly. this story was told by a friend, during a chinese new year many many years ago. according to my friend, there is this one time, when a couple was driving on a highway, their car suddenly break down. now, fulfilling its role in the story as a "lonely highway", there was no cars to help them. the guy checked the car and found out that the car is out of water. he went to the forest-like bushes at the side of the highway to find some water, and asked his wife to stay in the car, and not to come out. after a while of waiting in the car, she heard some thuds above her. *thud*thud*. she wanted to check what's happening, but fear took over and she decided against it. her hubby asked her to stay inside the car and not to go out, right? well, after a while, the thuds happened again. *thud*thud*, and it continued for a while when she heard a car pass by. the car honked at her and stopped not far in front of her car. the driver got out and signaled for her to come, looking frightened and frantic. she sensed something was wrong and opened her door, took a dash to the car. while running, she fell, and she turned around to look above her car. what she saw... what she saw made her scream, stood up and continued running to the car in front. she saw her husband on top of the car, and some kind of dark being holding his head and hitting it on the roof of their car. -end of story-
damn, that was a scary one. thus when the thuds start again... *thud*thud*, my friend looked at me and said, what's that? i was like.. errrrrrrr... probably some branch or something. my friend started to slow down and i said unbelievingly, "you gonna check it out?". he said "err.. yeah". i said "ok, let's check on it", trying to fake my courage. :P. we opened the door, he looked down, i looked up. nothing. after some searching, we found out that his front lights fell out and it was holding on to the car by the means of its wires. haha. that explains it. gosh. after that when we resumed driving, i asked "you aren't scared maybe it's something holding on to your car?". he said, "if i'm driving alone, i won't go out and check it out. it's just that you're here that i dare to do so". i said, "i thought something was on top of your car." he said, "i thought something was below my car".
now, can't blame me for thinking about "those" stuffs, coz lights falling out is not a normal occurence. we didn't knock anything. or... did we?
