this came up in my ICQ today, from a friend i haven't seen for a quite some time. now, i ask myself, why this question?
of all things in life, he could've asked about what specific things i do in my work, how's my brothers doing, where did i celebrate my new years', am i excited about new year's, was i sexually harassed today, did my dog peed on my pants today (you get the picture... ) but NOOOOOOO, he had to ask whether i have a gf.
yes so i am single.
yes so i do not have a girlfriend now.
so what? i wonder what "having a girlfriend" do to a guy's status. does having a girlfriend mean he's capable? does having a girlfriend means he's getting married soon? does having a girlfriend mean...
what difference does it make whether or not i have a girlfriend? would your impression on me change if i don't have one? if it does, then i'm not worth your time. or probably, the other way around.
to say i'm not looking would be denial.
to say i wasn't given the chance would be a lie. but i don't want to "have" a girlfriend so that i can say "yeah i have a girlfriend" whenever that question is posed to me.
what's wrong with you people? stop asking already.
