4 resignation letters were sent to the management's table within the past month, and of those 4, 2 were sent last week. A colleague was given 24 hours notice, another 7 day's notice. another is allowed to leave after she finishes whatever's left in her hands (plus a bit from others) and another might leave (if he didn't change his mind) end of next month. wow, what a really excellent way to start the year. well, that's excluding the 2 resignation of management/director-level posts in the last 3 months or so. hmmm.
i want to stay. i really want to stay. but after a lengthy chat with senior (the person in the management level that quit around 3 months ago), i begin to have doubts. i wonder, if even he, the senior and also most-valuable-technical-person, who represents probably the core of the project realization (means he is the person who implements the project, and without him, even if u manage to sell, u won't be able to remotely make sure the project is a success)... if even he faces the difficulty of being appreciated by the upper management, i wonder where do i stand... yes, i do believe i can achieve what he did, but for what? even if i achieve what he did, will all my hard work be appreciated? will i be properly compensated? should i still continue perspiring here or should i just invest my time and effort somewhere else where those efforts would be appreciated more?
"work like you don't need the money"
this has been my motto all this while, but should i still blindly hold on to this principle? or should i be a bit flexible and go somewhere else to exercise the motto, knowing that no matter how hard u work here, u face a major possibility of not being appreciated at all?
the dilemma would be the freedom i'm getting here. i'm free to express my ideas and implement it, therefore i'm free to develop my sales skill. but once this freedom is gone...
... then i think it's time for me to say "at least it was great while it lasted!"
