insight (the guy who's been tagging my tagboard and commenting my posts) sent me an email yesterday, which prompted me to write this :
Conversation with God
(okay, i don't want to dishonour God, so it'll be...)
Conversation with Mr. G (as how i would like to think)
me : Hi Mr. G
Mr. G : yo!
me : err, are you really God?
Mr. G : I'm your creator. You can call me God if you want.
me : but everybody else calls u God
Mr. G : that's fine with me
me : i have a lot of questions..
Mr. G : look, for centuries everybody has been asking me for answers, so to be honest i'm kinda sick of it. let me be honest here now, i can't give u all the answers lest people won't believe you, but what I can do is to make you think about what might be the probable answers, maybe some pointers etc. u still want to go ahead with this chat?
me : err.. hmm.. *thinks*
Mr. G : make up your mind
me : err.. ok. first question.
Mr. G : go ahead
me : do u really exist?
Mr. G : you're talking to me now right?
me : oh yeah, that's a lame question. hmm.. ok. i got a good one. how do u know english?
Mr. G : oh, not this again. ok, well. in your context, i don't exactly "know" english. i'm communicating with you directly with your mind, so you might think i know english. i can communicate with anything i ever created, so to you, i might be speaking in english, but to me i'm just communicating with you directly.
me : ah, that's a good one. people been telling me that we humans are a mirror image of you, is that correct?
Mr. G : hmm. u know what, no disrespect, but i don't understand why u humans like to humanize me. does that make u feel superior to other beings? u're not the only one i created u know. there is millions of creatures and structures in this world, so what makes u think i choose u to be a mirror image of myself? what makes you think u're superior than other creations i made? to tell u the truth, u're just like any other of my creation. in the beginning of the universe, i tinkered with a few atoms and things like that, and being a Creator as i am, the million of things i could come up with are limited with my potential. thus i add another element to my creations, called Time. and with that one thing, something you guys like to call "evolution" happened. and thus, there you.
me : err, u mean we're not special?
Mr. G : no i don't mean that. all my creations are special, and like you guys always preached, i'm fair. so don't get all haughty and stuff.
me : so what's with all the heaven and hell stuff.
Mr. G : i won't answer this question because you'll have to pay a price for it.
me : what's the price?
Mr. G : your life.
me : oh. maybe we'll just wait till my time comes. but people has been talking about this good vs. evil stuff that..
Mr. G : look, i don't know why you guys think you guys are more superior that you receive any special treatment from me, but i'm telling you, if i want you to be good, i'll just remove your ability to do bad things.
me : huh? so u mean we're free to do bad things?
Mr. G : see? this is exactly what i mean. you humans are not matured enough to think for the benefit of your own species. all you think is you you you you you. do u know what is the common ability i give to my creations?
me : to think?
Mr. G : that's where u're wrong again. do u think that by having the ability to think and come out with new things, you're more superior than others? most species will disappear sooner or later, and at the rate humans are going, you guys are going to disappear much faster than i thought u guys will last, with the ability to think that i gave u guys. how long did it take? 10k years? 50k years? 100k years? that's much shorter than my other species, you know. and although they don't have the ability to think, they do have other abilities that ensure their survival. things like, ability to protect themselves, ability to find food, ability to live in solitary and not disturb other clans, ability to see in the dark, etc. etc. and those are part of the common ability i gave to all my creations - the ability to survive. and don't think of you you you you you. it's not all about you. it's not about your own survival. it's the collective ability of your entire species to survive.
me : hey, we *are* mature. we can think!
Mr. G : you're mature? to me, being immature as you are, you guys start to attack each other and killing your own selves. u guys start to pollute your own home called earth that are given to you, making sure you won't have a home in the future. if this isn't being selfish and immature, what else? you only care for your own survival, not the survival of your entire species. you don't even fulfill the Nash equilibrium of doing what's good to you and collectively, your own species as a whole to benefit everybody, but instead you only do what appeals to your own self! u're afraid of death, but you're not afraid of the extinction of your species! aren't you being overly selfish thinking about yourself?
me : ......
Mr. G : that is why you have fear inside you. that is you there is such a thing called good and evil. that is why people tell you about heaven and hell, and that if you do good you'll go to heaven and other wise. i'm not telling you whether it really exists or not. for all you know, it does exist and if you really do good you'll go to heaven. but for all you know too, it might not exist. you'll only know if you pay the price. without this heaven and hell thing, with the selfishness and immaturity of humans, do you think you'll survive for even 50 more years? do you think your people will be mature enough and understanding enough to do good collectively to ensure the survival of your own species?
me : no... not really.
Mr. G : is that worth thinking about?
me : yeah.. *thinks hard*
Mr. G : and i don't understand why u guys make such a fuss about death. today on your way to work, u stepped on some ants and they died. did they make a fuss? NOOOOOOOOOO..
me : errr...
Mr. G : also, the fuss about viruses in this world. you try your best to defend yourself from viruses. now i'm not saying that's a wrong thing to do, in fact, that's the best thing to do, to ensure your survival. but, imagine the Earth as a being itself, don't you think that by polluting and using up its resources, humans are viruses to Earth too? if you know how to defend yourself against viruses by eradicating it, what makes you think Earth's not doing the same thing to you?
me : hmm.....
Mr. G : ooops, gotta go. i gotta shape up this new Universe i'm coming up with. talk to you next time. i'll just leave you with all these questions, try to squeeze ur brain juice dry thinking about them. it'll be good to you. u might just grow up to be a more responsible person.
me : sure :)

no offense to ppl out there. i believe in God just like you do (if you don't, well, too bad, i still believe in Him), just that it's probably not in the same way as you. the conversation just poses some questions i have in my mind :)
