the day started off badly. i felt so sick (my nose was hurting coz it was like a hose last nite when i slaved through the night just to make sure i can sleep peacefully, and i made it) that i told myself i didn't want to go to work today. in any case, who doesn't? ;)
anyways, i willed myself out of bed, and when i looked at my watch (my handphone) it was 9.30am. yup, yet again, i was late. was thinking to myself to give an excuse that i don't feel well that day, but then again that's the excuse most people give, so i just didn't bother. didn't bother to give an excuse, that is. and it's not a question why i am still late, but the real question is, why am i still not penalized. the day will come, i'm sure, and probably sooner than expected.
anyhoos, i got to work check my email did my work and asked my colleague to set up user testing session at 2pm so that we have a bit of buffer time to eat lunch. went lunch together with boss, 6 of us. and we wanted to go to the usual place we go, but our boss were complaining that it was dirty. he wanted to go to another place, which was wayyy more expensive and the others balked at the idea. i didn't really give a damn and went off to withdraw money, and my colleague came to tell me the boss got his way and we're all going to the expensive place.
not a bad place, and according to boss it has the coldest loo in malaysia. the food was good, and i ordered chicken soup to ease my dose (nose). i couldn't finish my fried rice coz it was a huge portion, well worth the rm 7.50 price tag. the chicken soup was rm 7.. ouch. anyways, we finished, i felt full, and we headed back, dreading the user test (me and my colleague supposed to handle this).
suddenly boss said, "why's all this man. why don't we all just screw everything and go watch a movie?"
?
all was quiet. i asked "are u serious?"
"yes of course i'm serious. u think i'm kidding? hey, he thought i was kidding"
hmmm.... well, seems like he wants to play some game on us. fine, i'll play along.
went back to office, and boss asked us to cancel the user testing. "cancel everything," he said. "u guys have been doing this for months, what's a day going to lose?", he added. i was like.. "err, i can cancel things here but i'm needed urgently over at another client's place. he's like calling me twice already!". "everything." err, okay boss.. whatever you say. i'm sure the client's gonna kill me coz his app gotta go live by tomorrow.
i was still being sceptical, and i'm sure that he was just pulling our legs, until all 6 of us went to klcc, headed to the cinema, bought the tickets to bad boys 2, and sat in the cinema, when i suddenly realized that hey, this is true after all!
wtf!!!!! coolness!!!!! hehehehe
before the show started, my phone rang. it's the client. i briefed them a little bit, and then proceeded to off the phone as requested by boss.
the movie was good :)
even better coz it was during office hours :)

after the movie finished, i turned on my handphone and there was 2 voicemails (both from client, different people but same company) and 1 sms. shit. but it's ok. boss and colleagues proceeded for a relaxing cup of coffee (my my, he's stretching this, eh? ;)) but i excused myself coz i was needed urgently. i went there, concocted a story about how i'm in a meeting and had to off my phone coz of the earlier phone call by one of them, and apologized profusely.
got down to work, and finished debugging their app (i didn't develop it. something else develop it and it has loopholes. i just help them to fix it) by 10pm, and here i am at home blogging away, preparing to sleep early. can u believe that two different people of two different projects actually demanded that i don't work late today?
