why 1? coz 2 is the coming weekend. i'm going to the lady s@lsa thingy this coming weekend!
gent|ng!! swoon~~!
on saturday, after the hangover from friday's binge, a convoy (ok ok, just 3 cars) came from m@lacca to pick me up at my house here at cher@s to go to gent|ng. yup, it's that time of the year again. nope, not the yearly mass-pms day, it's the school reunion day!!! it's time when us secondary school friends gather at one common place (instead of yahoo messenger) and update ourselves and talk bad about other people (just kidding) and gossip like mad and stuff!
this is the 8th gathering, which means it's the 8th year we gathered. the attendance was like, nearly 30. wow, surprisingly you can still get nearly 30 people to go together to genting on a weekend after 8 years. when i organized it last year, the attendance was at about 45. but it's unfair to judge it this way coz it was held in m@lacca itself, so i really applaud this year's organizers' efforst. way cool!
it's foggy all the way up there. i was reading the usual blogs i frequent today and some of them commented on how breezy and windy and cool (literally) saturday and sunday was. well, i was at genting and nearly died from freezing. walking from the car park to ri@ apartments were like walking through a blizzard, what more when you're only wearing a t-shirt and jeans, and slippers to boot.
we went to the be a st@r karaoke lounge where we booked 4 rooms. i chose to be nice to everybody since i haven't met a lot of them for quite a while, so i slept. everybody else sang. didn't want to torture them with my monotonous voice (as how i tortured the people today when i gave the training just now, muahaha). around 10pm everybody crowded into a room, and microphones went all around to give everybody opportunities to update themselves to others. so rather than gossip news you get first hand news, or you can verify the gossip that you heard. whatever it is, it was cool except for the fact that the MC (one of the organizers) told us that his objective for the night was to piss everyone off. and he did his job well in embarassing every one of us. i think it's pretty alrite, and compared to a mundane quickie wham-bam-thank-you-mam i'd rather be embarassed and laugh at others being embarassed while updates are being done. at least everybody else is laughing when you're being embarassed rite. it's ok lah, we'll all hate him (the MC) forever. need to find the hammer and the nails to poke his car tyres with in the future. maybe during cny. let's just see.
at midnite some chose to stay in the karaoke (coz they planned to go back straight to kl), the others went straight back to the apartments to put their stuff (the active ones) or sleep (the homely ones). i went to the l@tino party at f|rst w0rld h0tel. i saw some of my s@lsa mates there, danced with them for a while until the stupid DJ told the cub@nos (after just a few s@lsa songs) with the s@lsa cds "no more s@lsa for tonite, switch to r&b all nite."
the cub@nos of course werent too happy with it (as with me) when one of them told me about it. can't blame the cub@nos. after all, it's l@tino nite that i bought that darn rm15 ticket to attend. how can u play r&b songs? give me my rm15 back, you miniscule brainless twit!
gent|ng DJ sucks. i wonder why most of the DJs we meet (no offense to other DJs) are brainless twits. one nearly argued with my instructor on wednesday during the competition. he spoke too much while the music is playing, i think he spoke for more than 75% of the song, while minimizing the volume when he spoke. how the hell do u expect us to dance? and the management promised us all night s@lsa summore.
and then after the cub@nos stopped playing (and performing cool s@lsa moves) the stage is taken over by... gheys! can u believe it!?!?!? well it's not like i'm trying to fight for the stage space with them (i wasn't anywhere near) but please if you want to take over the stage please please make sure you can at least dance like you're dancing and not just flail your arms like octopus or monkeys? no offense to gheys out there but this is outrageous. not to mention holding hands (both males) and hopping! it looks blardy effeminate i tell you.
stayed at the club for a while until i can't stand anymore, and then i joined my secondary skool frens at the casino. nothing much to say here coz i don't gamble with my money. at least not there.. we're all losers once we step into the casino.
4am. slept with only a shirt as blanket. woke up at 10am, go for fast food b/fast, then casino, then went back home at kl.
yay. 4pm, the d&d adventure with insight, beng and peng begins!
we were done at midnite, with all of us level up to level 2. muahahaha. see you for the next adventure!
late @ work again today. i think "i'm screwed" could be my most-spoken-words-after-waking-up this year. could next year be better?
i hope my client was not being sarcastic when he goes :
client : so what time are you coming tomorrow?
me : err... dunno? why? anything important for me to do?
client : no lah, if you come early you can show me how to do *some technical gibberish*
me : emm..
client : also so that i can call you at 9am and not be afraid that you're still sleeping
me : .... hey that better not be a sarcastic gesture. hahaha *laughs nervously* you ar...
client : it's true what!
-__-
shit. i'm screwed.
footnote : troy, when i say "we're all losers once we step into the casino", it's based solely on the fact that the casino earns on average MYR 200 per patron (maybe even more) on a certain year (based on the report/study that i read about quite some time ago). on a larger context, when you average it out, everybody loses MYR 200 once they step into a casino. i'm just generalizing and imagining it from a different context. whatever ways you wish to interpret it, it's up to you. to me, i'd rather not gamble and contribute to the huge corporate tax that gent|ng is paying to the government. i'm already complaining about my taxes that i'm currently paying, so i'm not about to risk contributing more to that ;).
and yes you may say i probably could win and pay less, but again if i win, i will be returning for more, and whatever i won before won't be counted because there is still probability of losing in the future. and that probably of losing is.. sad to say, still higher than the probability of winning. so if a person wins a certain amount of money, can he for sure says that he won that certain amount of money? if he is quits going to casino altogether, yes then he can claim that. but if he still is returning, that winning amount is nothing because future losses will minus the previous winning out, and all of you knows what that probability is.
so all in all, if you win, and you return, you still might lose because the probability of losing is higher. if you lose, and you return, you still might lose because the probability of losing is higher. accumulate all your winnings and losses over the years until you die, what does that add up to? and that.. you have to calculate yourself ;)
so the best thing? well, there is no best thing to do. to each his own. thus, for me, i'd rather risk my money with things that the probability of winning is higher.
