i spent the weekend re-arranging my room, and spent around rm 500 on new furnitures including a new bed frame, 5' work table, 2 chairs (to accommodate friends), a small book shelf (that i found out is insufficient... my books are still overflowing!!!)..
i need a bigger bookshelf... but it's so darn not value-for-money! probably i'll settle for another one of c@rref0ur's rm 11 bookshelf :p.
anyways, the quality of the bed frame, the work table and the bookshelf is not bad. with rm 500, i probably could've gotten only a bed frame from ike@. but this furniture shop delivers to my room (not just the doorstep, my apartment is like... 5th floor, no elevator), fixes it up for me, even put my bed on top of the bed frame after they finishes. it probably means nothing for you, but hey for me that's "going an extra mile" to please customers, namely me.. *cough* :p
and i get to bargain! muahahahahah
me : so this bookshelf... how much u selling it? i saw at c@rref0ur they selling at rm 11 leh...
furniture shop owner : oh, the small one we got also, but we normally sell at rm 19.. if you fix it yourself (read: DIY) i can sell it to you at rm 15 or 16.
me : hmm.. ok, i'll have this.. rm 15 right?
owner : yeah.. you fix it yourself ah..
me : aiya, come and help me fix lah, since you're delivering things to my place anyway.
owner : hmm...
me : *shows receipt* see, i bought hundreds of dollars worth of things from you leh... four hundred plus plus leh.. dunno how many months i work only i can save that amount of money leh...
owner : ok ok... rm 15 then
i haggled for the other items too, and i would've haggled more, but considering they send the furniture up (remember, no elevators!) and fixes it for me on the same bloody day, ok lah... let them earn more from me... good service.. so i guess i'll be returning for more!
