business or employment :first installment of other people's rants
i have an uncle who owns a small business (well, i consider it big since my networth is so small compared to him), with turnover ranging around rm 10 mil yearly, who recently packed his business.
it's not because of bankruptcy or imminent bankruptcy, but according to him, the pressure and headaches/migranes are not worth the money earned. he has so much to worry about, and the freakin' returns are too damn small to be worth it. therefore, he sold watever he can, and laid off all his employees (with proper remunerations, according to him..).
and during cny he laments about how difficult it is to run a business, how easy it is for employees, it's better to be employed and earning 10+k a month rather than running a business, even though with turnover in that amount because the margin is just too damn small (info: retail business = damn low margin). not just once, he would rant again and again and again. aih. wat to do, listen lor. he's the one older, ate more salt than the rice i ate, more experienced.
hmmm. points to ponder. can't actually believe my ears.. coz never thought he'd be that jaded.
