can somebody please suggest some ways on how to stop the stupid cats (info: i don't hate cats and i have nothing against cats but this is equivalent to a declaration of vendetta!) from defecating in front of my apts? it's been cleaned like 3 times over the past week and STILL it/they kept at it! and i always thought cats are smart enough to dig a hole somewhere and do their business and bury it, so why is this happening here?!?!? why are the cats here so dumb!?!? -pissed off!-
i have several ideas but then they all won't work :
1. keep a dog.
not allowed in apartments. (damn)
2. lay a mousetrap.
too bloody cruel.
3. lay a trap, a box or something to trap the cat.
box too light. can't find anything heavy enough
4. lay an electric wire.
too dangerous, might harm neighbours. plus i can't find any external battery sources. still, a very attractive idea.
5. install a cctv to find out the culprit, hunt it down and (a) bring it to a far away place in a plastic and release it or (b) tie a string of cans behind it (insight's idea), release it from in front of my apts so that it never comes again.
installing cctv is too troublesome and costly, and (a) is way too suspicious. people might think i'm dumping cats in a ravine/river whilst i'm on my way.
6. spray insect repellant at that spot (they always shit at the same spot) everyday.
everyday?!!?!?? in addition to that, neighbours might be the ones repelled.
7. put an air freshener there.
i doubt the effectiveness of this method
so, people, anybody experienced enough to handle this? i'm out of ideas. stupid cats. i don't personally hate cats but this act of war is somehow inducing me to kick cats whenever i see them. i don't want to be doing that, so please, somebody, anybody, if you have a proven idea on doing this, share it!
