mum is always right

funny how u find out the hard way that mum is always right. she always told me, "don't rub your eyes too much, bad for your eye" and i never believed her.

about 5 days ago, something strange came into vision. specifically, my right eye. it's like mosquito larvae, blur. it doesn't really block my view but it blurs whatever it obstructed. u can't focus on it, but it follows your eye view everywhere you look at. not sharply, but more like something floating gracefully, floating to wherever your vision focuses at. sometimes you can play catch with it. sometimes you just roll your eyes wherever to have a good look at it.

it's something that you notices in your vision sometimes. when i was young i always see this worm-like invisible thingy that follows my eyes wherever i look at. whenever i look up into the sky, the thing follows up, then when i fix my gaze at a point in the sky, that bubbly worm like see-thru thingy will float down slowly. it became a game for a while, and i forget about it as i grew up.

last week it came back, but it's not see-thru anymore. more like a small black blur blob, a cause for worry. so i search online, and i came thru these words and phrases : "floaters", "vitreous", "posterior vitreous detachment" and "A torn retina is always a serious problem, since it can lead to a retinal detachment". Scary phrases.

so i went to an eye doctor today, had a retinal check. it appears that i have wrinkles at my vitreous something thingy, small wrinkles at that. nothing serious. still young, will unwrinkle itself back slowly in time, or with medication. first question he asked, "u like to rub your eyes?"

yes i do. of course i like to rub my eyes. it's like a sport. kidding. i always have this allergy, that comes together with flu. had to rub all the time, else will itch. but now.. i think.... i think i should follow my mum's advice and stop rubbing.

everything is blur now. in order to check my eyes, the eye doc put some eye drop in eye, blistering pedas thingy. read a book for a while, then find out i can't focus it. had to hold book at arm's length to read. now still blur. he said vision will be blur for 4 hours.

there goes my half day work. SIGH

so people, stop rubbing your eyes. rub your crotch for once.

kidding
