I'm trying to determine the best credit card and frequent flier/rewards program combination. "The best" would be a tough thing to do right now, I guess I'll just start with anything that is better than my current one.
I have an MBFcards credit card, and it has a bonus link rewards program attached to it.
What I'll do is attempt to calculate the value (in RM) that I'll get per RM spent.
For my current card/rewards program combination, MBFcards gives 3 bonuslink points for every RM 10 spent. And using an RM 50 taithong voucher redemption as a reference (cost = 4800 bonus link points), the value I'm getting from this combo is:
Value per rewards point = 50/4800 = RM 0.0104167 Value per RM 1 spent = 0.0104167*3/10 = RM 0.003125
